This is a story thing I wrote up for one of my teripets...o.o These things are friggen awsome! Zeyrith is a creature known as a Terolith ^.^ here is a piccy of a nocturne one...they are so cool looking
Now then....onward with Zeyrith's story!! o.o
Zeyrith
Long ago in a far off distant land a young terolith was born. He was no stronger or, faster than the others. He was not smarter node, was he any more aggressive. Thought he was seen as an omen of the negative kind. The young one was born into a clan of nocturne terolith and yes he too was nocturne. There was only one problem. He was stark black and blood red. The young one was named Zeyrith and cared for by his father for, even his mother feared him. Such a sad fate for, such a young creature.
Zeyrith grew up only knowing his father for, his only friend. The nocturne clan showed so much hate toward young Zeyrith that even their young hated him. The other young one’s ignored Zeyrith or picked on his because he looked different. Slowly Zeyrith grew bitter and cold, snapping verbally at anyone who dare get close. Zeyrith would spend much of his time tucked away in a small cave wondering why the world hated him. Wondering what he’d done wrong. Wondering why he was even born.
“The day of that Demon’s birth draws near….” Zeyrith heard the clan elder say one day. This was the final straw! He was not a demon! He was not a cold blooded killer! Why did they shun him!? Why did they hate him!? What had he ever done wrong? What had he ever done to physically hurt someone? The answer. Nothing. Zeyrith had done nothing wrong, he’d never even hurt anyone. The adolescent summoned up the corrage to go to the elder. The poor creature was even denied that right now. Zeyrith felt broken. He felt lost.
The terolith went to see his father that night, to tell him what had happened. Zeyrith and his father lived in an underground cave. The entrance was hidden behind a waterfall, just outside the clan’s territory. Zeyrith was about a half mile away when the scents of blood and death came to him. The blood was his father’s. Zeyrith stood frozen for a few minutes then broke out into a swift run. The terolith’s heart was pounding in his chest as he swiftly moved. The beast burst through the waterfall and continued to run down the tunnel. What Zeyrith was met with would never leave him for the rest of his years.
His father was now gone as was the creature whom, was said to be his mother. She’d murdered him, then taken her own life out of guilt. Zeyrith took a few steps closer then collapsed from the greif. He’d lost both his best friend and his father. Zeyrith felt a warm liquid run down his muzzle from his eyes. He was crying but, these weren’t normal tears. They were tears of blood. Zeyrith finally got to his paws after a few hours of mourning and nuzzled his father. The greif stricken terolith even showed his mother the same affection before turning and making his way slowly up the tunnel.
Zeyrith had just stepped through the waterfall when he was met by the clan’s warriors. They swiftly immobilized him by force and allowed the clan elder and healers to go into the tunnel. Zeyrith didn’t move a muscle he didn’t have the will to. Zeyrith was for the moment completely broken. Soon enough the rest of the clan showed up and sent hatefull glares at the black and crimson terolith. The clan elder stepped out from behind the waterfall with a snarl. “Murderer!” He shouted at Zeyrith.
The elder snarled again and glared at the warriors, whom swiftly moved away. The elder swung a massive and deadly paw at Zeyrith as he was trying to stand. Zeyrith let out a cry of pain as the claws cut into his skin and the froce sent him back to the ground. The elder went to tackle Zeyrith but, failed due to, Zeyrith moving away too fast. Back on his paws Zeyrith began to back away. “It wasn’t me. I didn’t do it.” He said still moving away from the enraged elder.
“Then who was it!? Your mother surely would not kill her own mate!” The elder barked out coldly. “She did! It wasn’t me! I would never harm my father!” Zeyrith yelled back, he’d come to a halt and glared. This time he wouldn’t back down. Not without a fight. Zeyrith pinned his ears and glared coldly as a few tears fell from his eyes. The much older and far more powerful elder closed in on Zeyrith. The two soon began to circle one another tossing insults back and forth. Zeyrith had been pushed too far this time. The elder lunged and Zeyrith swung a paw catching the older terolith off guard. That move sent the elder tumbling to the ground.
As soon as the elder hit the ground, the warriors jumped in the fight. Zeyrith was out numbered now, twenty to one. The hours passed and still the young terolith kept fighting. Everytime he was knocked down he’d get up again though, now it was getting harder and harder. Zeyrith’s indigo gaze was full of fire and spirit, he wasn’t going to give up. Two of the warriors knocked him down and another three attacked poor Zeyrith while he was still down. The terolith fought off his attackers but, he failed passing out from blood loss.
Zeyrith awoke later in a strange new place. He was no longer in his forest home but, inside an iron cage. Zeyrith growled softly as he got to his paws and looked around. There were other creatures here. They were all so strange and new to him. Zeyrith soon found out he was not the only terolith in this place! There was another! She told him that this was a place humans came to adopt animals. Zeyrith waited confused as humans came and went, even the pretty diurnal terolith was adopted.
Finally he was awoken one day by a pair of soft hands stroking his fur. Zeyrith growled softly leaning into the gentle touch. That was when he heard a human girl chuckle softly. Zeyrith opened his eyes and looked up at her. This girl had entered his cage and sat down resting his head in her lap. She’d even begun stroking his fur as he slept! Most confusing to him indeed. “Whats your name?” She asked softly. Zeyrith blinked in shock for, he understood her words. “Zeyrith.” He replied calmly. “Would you like to come home with me Zeyrith?” She asked. “Yes.” He replied with a soft smile, she didn’t fear him. She didn’t hate him. Zeyrith finally found another who cared for him.
