Allen, I love you. I wish you didn't have to leave me... I need you now more than ever..
A girl wrapped her hands in black cloth, leaving openings for her fingers and stopping mid-way down her forearm. Her emerald green eyes didn't move from the ground, her purple waist-length purple hair curtaining her face. She had been at this place for well over five years, approximately six years after Allen's death and precisely the day of his birthday. Allen had been her true love, her soulmate, the one she loved the most and never anyone else. But a tragedy had hit him and he had vanished from her life. Today was the sixth anniversery of his death, and every time the girl would go to the dojo and practice her martial arts, just like they had done every day on his birthday since they had found each other.
"Allen, please don't go today. You promised to go to the Dojo just like we always do!" she begged, tears beginning to well up in her eyes. Her hands were clenched into fists at her side, wanting to grab Allen and shake him until he fainted for breaking their anniversary promise.
"Honey, I have to go. They called well over two weeks ago and I accepted. I can't just decline all of a sudden, especially when they need me the most," he retorted softly, hands on her shoulders. She brushed them off and turned away, tears flowing unchecked down her face. "I'll be sure to come back as soon as it's over with. Don't worry about me. I won't disappear."
The girl tightened the bands slightly, then stood and tightened the cloth belt at her waist. Walking over to a large punching/kicking bag, her emerald eyes locked on it with a death wish. Never in her life could she just kick or punch at thin air. She always had to have a target. But you did disappear, Allen... You never came back. Stifling a cry in her throat, she punched at the bag, moving around it before it retaliated, and kicking at it again with her right leg. Usually she'd be at the club, flirting with any man she could find or dancing with someone or most likely by herself, but not today.

The girl swung around, steppinga way from the swinging bag so it wouldn't hit her, and looked at the newcomer. Instantly, time seemed to stop and her heart stuttered, her hands slowly falling. Allen... she thought, thinking it was too good to be true. But then her mind faded away from Allen slightly and she noticed that the guy had orangish hair and his eyes were gold instead of a deep blue. But he resembled him so much... "No, I don't mind. Go ahead," she said, finally tearing her gaze away from him, heart pounding too hard for comfort. Its not Allen. Allen has dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. Plus he probably wouldn't have acted that way if he saw me...
She straightened her purple shirt, pulling her tan shorts down slightly, then raised her hands again toward the bag, concentrating. I have to keep my mind concentrated on the bag... Don't.. don't think of either of them, she told herself, emerald green eyes sticking to the large punching bag like glue. Releasing her breath, she swung at the bag and moved around it again, throwing a swift kick at it, then throwing a few more punches again. Never did she slow down nor did she take her eyes off of the bag. The last thing she wanted to do was get hit by it and go colliding into the stranger at the same time he went by. What an embarrassment that would be.

Allen, I need to let go of you. Please help me. Send me a sign that I can go on. A card, a message of some sort... Anything!! she thought desperately, hitting the bag with force with both her fists and legs. When her mind finally clicked that the guy had come near her, she hestitated and stopped. "Uh.. hu-" The girl was knocked out of breath as the bag hit her square in the side, causing her to fly right into the guy. Her face turned a very bright red, her eyes closing tightly in embarrassment. "Shit..." she muttered under her breath, feeling pain arc through her side. But she ignored it at the moment and opened her eyes slowly. "I-I'm sorry. I'm not usually clumsy like that... I don't know what got into me, just standing there like that..." She moved quickly away from him, pulling her shorts down as if they were too short.
Clearing her throat, she moved to the bag and stopped it, not wanting to take the chance of looking at him. That was too embarrassing for her. Especially when the guy looked so much like Allen and made her want to stay still and be in his arms. "No... I'm not here... I've been here for five years, in fact. I just... don't come here too often.. Only on special days and a few in between," she answered quietly, fiddling with the cloth on her hands.

The girl stopped right in front of her bag but didn't move to do anything. "Honey Kia. But some people just call me either one.." she said, starting to unwrap the cloth from her hands. "Its only special because... someone close to me was called away for something and he never came back. He.. died." She didn't know why she was telling a complete stranger about Allen, let alone talk to him this much about herself. She never did that with anyone. Holding the first wrap in her hands, she thought a moment before stuffing it in her bag, shaking her head. "Its the sixth year since then, and today would have been his twentieth birthday."
Allen, forgive me, but I had to tell someone. Even if he is a complete stranger, he seems nice and everything... I hate carrying the burden of your death and keeping it a secret... I just need someone to confide in...

Honey stopped in the middle of upwrapping the second cloth when he laid his hand on her shoulder. Her heart leaped suddenly and she almost moved away as if he had burned her, but controlled herself before her body made the move. She didn't want to come off as a rude person. "It's fine, really," she said, stuffing the cloth into her bag. "Not many people know, truthfully, because they never ask questions. Which is why you don't see me with others often." Honey zipped up her bag, letting out a light sigh. Her stomach felt as if butterflies had invaded it and it bothered her. She hadn't felt that since Allen left. But why, dammit?

Kia looked back at him, eyes wide with surprise and her mouth half open. A spar? Her emerald green eyes fell to his bag, then back up to his face. Had she angered him in some way? What exactly did she do to make him want to spar? Clearing her throat, she turned back toward her own bag and was tempted to leave, just to forget they even met, but her mind was clouded and fuzzy. Don't be such a kitten, Kia. Just say yes and get it over with... she thought to herself, hands clenching her bag tightly. With a quiet sigh, she let go of her bag and turned around, a brief small smile on her face. "Sure, if you're really up to it," she said, taking a few steps toward him. She was nervous, but Kia kept the feeling inside, not about to give him the advantage to pity her and say she wasn't worth the time.

Already caught off-guard, Kia was tripped by his offense. Yet she didn't land on her back. instead, her hands moved behind her, stopping her fall as she kicked off the ground with her feet and did a full backflip and landed on her feet again. Kia instantly began forward toward Kyo as a runner would, swinging off to the right and turning toward his back as she did. Hopefully she wasn't as quick as she thought he was, seeing as how he looked well trained in Martial Arts. Kia dropped her body to the ground, hands holding her up while she kicked out with her right leg to hit the back of his knees. Please don't be quick enough to catch my leg... she thought, gritting her teeth as she glanced up at him.

Kia stood up gingerly, one hand at her stomach briefly. She lifted her head, a grin on her face and her emerald eyes holding that challenge unflauntingly, still. "Training only a few days a year wouldn't get me where I am today," she gruffed, tossing her hair over her shoulder and out of her way as she rushed swiftly forward, beginning to fake exactly what she had done earlier. Her body had dropped slightly, made herself seem as if she was about to move past, but she switched direction at the last second, using her left leg and spinning counter-clockwise to land a kick to his upper right side. If he could tell what I was doing before.. what makes me think I'm going to trick him with this? she thought, doubting herself at his confident face. There was only one other person she truly sparred with and that was Allen himself. No, I can't give up. Even if he does beat me, it won't be the first time I lost...

Kia looked up at Kyo as he advanced. Yet instead of him actually doing anything, he had stopped. What the hell...? He isn't giving me time to strike back, is he?! That's insane! I'm not weak! she growled, emerald green eyes flashing as she gritted her teeth. Well, if he's just going to stand there, I'm making a move... Kia turned on her left side for a bit of balance, swinging her right leg toward the back of Kyo's legs in a swift cut to knock him to the ground. Once he was, she moved quickly over to him and pinned him down with her hands on his shoulders. Kia gave him a triumphant grin, a burning sense of pride bubbling through her stomach. She truly had never won a spar because Allen had been the only one she had ever sparred with. "Oh, I think I did..." she said with a small laugh.

She took his hand, holding back a smile as she stood and straightened her clothes again. "Well, its not my fault men have thoughts invading their mind constantly about who knows what.." she said, crossing her arms over her chest. So much like him.. yet a whole different person. He can't be the same... Shaking her head slightly, she looked away as a slight pain shot through her stomach and head. Kia rolled her emerald eyes and walked over to her her bag and sat on the bench next to it, crossing her legs indian-style. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and tried to think of something else, something other than Allen and the boy in the room that resembled him so much. He was cocky, sure of himself, confident to no doubts. He even knew what she was going to do, yet he seemed sweet. Help me let go of you, Allen. Jesus, I can't do a damn thing without remembering you and having this happen. Just.. just let me go and I'll do the same, I promise..

Finally relaxing, letting of all her old memories and tension, Kia opened her eyes slowly and looked at the ground. She was too afraid to look at Kyo again, knowing it would only bring back the same memories. If he could just show one thing that made him different than Allen, she would be able to be around the boy. Its quiet... What is he doing..? Or did he leave?! Her head shot up instantly, emerald orbs quickly spotting him on the floor, meditating like she was. But what for? He seemed the type who was always having a good day, never getting into emotional problems or anything of the sort. Fights and mischief, probably, but nothing emotional. With a sigh, she rolled her eyes slightly. I swear... I'm going to back that saying up about cats... 'Cause I'm pretty damn lucky that my curiousity hasn't killed me yet, she thought, sliding off the bench silently.
Kia instantly shifted into a domestic feline, an American Shorthair to be exact. She slinked toward the wall, emerald eyes locked on Kyo to make sure he didn't move or begin looking for her, and made her way closer. She just wanted to know what he was like up close and personal, or at least close enough to it. Stepping onto the mats, now behind him, Kia slowly made her way toward him until she was standing on his right side, looking up at his face. It was intriguing, really. Kyo really was attractive, charming in an aura sort of way. Kia tilted her head to the right slightly, the feline half of her just itching to jump in his lap and sit there like a nice little house cat, but she knew better. He was a complete stranger and she didn't want to take risks.

She gave him a flat look when he thought she should have been something 'scarier.' Her ears flattened back slightly, the tip of her tail flickering slightly. Yet when he set her down, looking out the window, her gaze followed. Cherry Blossoms... They seem to be of sentimental value to him... she thought. Kia then heard the name Mia from him, making her head turn. Mia..? She must be his girlfriend. These people must have seperated them, thinking that Kyo was a shifter... He seems the type to be, I get the feeling, but nothing has led me there yet... Her emerald gaze flickered to the window, watching pink petals randomly fall to the floor inside and outside.
Abruptly, Kia shifted back to her human form, sitting right next to Kyo. Her arms were wrapped loosely around her knees, which she had brought up to her chest, and her emerald gaze was on the ground. Her violet hair curtained her face, the tips laying slightly on the floor. "Are you okay...?" she asked quietly. Kia wasn't the type to pry for anyone's past, but she was the type to worry about a random stranger. Someday, that might be the death of her, too.

Kia still sat on the ground, resting her forehead on her knees. Why do I ask..? I don't know why I asked... I thought.. maybe you might have wanted to hear those words... she thought. For some reason, I feel like I should comfort you and say it'll be okay, that you'll be able to move on in due time, no matter how long it truly takes. I feel like I should hug you and say I'll be there for you.. I'm not sure what to think anymore. I only just met you... With a small shaky sigh, Kia pressed her face against her legs, trying to prevent tears from breaking out. "Yeah... it is hard, Kyo... Sometimes you just wish you could bring them back from the dead or do anything for just to have them with you or see their smile one last time, just to know that they're happy," she said, her voice slightly cracking from the effort to hold her emotions back. Her nails were also digging into her arms, her teeth tugging on her lower lip. It was a slightly painful effort, but she couldn't just burst out crying here, in front of Kyo.

Kia thought that she would have rejected to Kyo wrapping his arms around her, embracing her, but she found she didn't. Instead, her hands had found his shirt, her face pressed against his right shoulder as tears began to flow down her face. "That's the point. I don't want to cry. I don't want him to be ashamed of me because I know he's watching. He isn't here with me physically, he never will be, but he's watching and I couldn't live with myself if I cried over him. If it could help me get over his death, I'd be fresh out of these damn emotions, but I know it won't bring him back to me or help me let him go," she choked out, even though her body was betraying the very words she said. She needed to cry, to get all of the excess emotions out, and he was giving her the chance to.
Kia's tears became less frequent the more they sat there, her thoughts running over his last few words. "Is it selfish of me…to want…to forget everything that happened…it’s so painful." "Kyo... the only time you'll really be selfish is if you deliberately hold that person to you. Even if it isn't physically, you're only bringing pain to yourself mentally and emotionally the more you cling to that person and your memories. I know that.. you sometimes don't want to see them and they act on their own accord, but because you can't let that special person go is the reason they still linger," she said quietly, now rather relaxed against him. Her eyes were closed, hiding the emerald green orbs there that told so much in such a small space, her violet hair partly in her face. "That's why I want to let go of him so much. I don't like the pain I'm feeling. It's silly to say, but I've always prayed for a Savior to come to me, to help me somehow. But during the past five or so years... I'm beginning to doubt there is ever such a thing as a Savior..."

Kia wasn't really phased when he got closer. Hell she hadn't even noticed herself, staring straight into his eyes as well. But when he moved away, she snapped back into reality and turned slightly from him, red creeping slowly into her face. She sat indian-style, her hands on her ankles and tightening when he mentioned about her emotions. "No! I mean..." Kia sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly, emerald eyes on the ground. "I just refuse to accept his death. If I can find someone else, just one person that makes me feel the same way he did, I just know I can go on. I feel like that's what he wants for me, but I just can't accept his death. I wasn't even able to say goodbye to him," she murmured, shaking her head slightly. "What's worse is that I never told him to be careful. I never told him to come back safely to me. We had so much planned out and I let it all fall because I couldn't say a few simple words, even when I knew he was walking into something dangerous. He wouldnt' tell me what it was, though, but I knew it wasn't a good place..."
