A young girl sat on a smooth boulder, grey-blue eyes staring into the sparkling water. She reached down with a slender hand and skimmed the top of the water not caring that it was wet. Her lengthy black dress covered her long, slim legs. In her free hand she held a flower, just a single black-petaled rose she had picked on her way up the mountain. Her gaze fell to it, admiring it's dark beauty. Amazing how something so simple could be elegant and beautiful. The girl had no expression on her face as she looked around, grey-blue eyes scanning the wilderness. It was so peaceful here, a wonderful place where only the faint breeze bothered you. Adriana began humming the tune she played on her piano, the soft...welcoming one. Not the loud, thunderous one. Her small cat stood beside her, looking around with it's vibrany golden eyes. The cat sniffed at the rose the girl held in her hand then rubbed it's maw against it as cats did. Adriana let out a small chuckle, "You are just too much you know that?" she said to her cat picking him up and holding him in her arms. She stroked his head lightly and pressed her forehead against him, lovingly. "You're the only one who knows, my friend. And I know you will never tell..."

A girl walked through the semi-dense brush, her maroon eyes on the ground. They were emotionless, like usual, void of happiness, sorrow, and other 'normal' feelings. No, she wasn't like the rest. She was exactly what a robot, an experiment, should be like. But she was still human, in fact. She still fought through emotions randomly, even had her own fears, but her mind ran like a robot's, eliminating unwanted feelings. Her odd looking boots crumpled the grass as she stepped further into the small secluded area, unheaded of the woman just ahead.
Her maroon eyes fell upon her garb and sudden emptiness filled her. She wasn't normal like everyone else. She didn't dress normal. She wore very nice white boots that ended mismatched on her legs, not far from an odd white band around her thighs-gold bands rising up and out on her legs. She wore a baby blue zip-up outfit, somewhate resembling a costume or suit of some kind. Her right arm was decorated with a long black sleeve, ending not far from her elbow and flaring out with a special design. Her left arm was covered with the same, yet they remained fingerless gloves. She also wore an odd contraption on her head. Why it was there, she didn't know.
The girl sighed, her waist long, flowing azure hair settling around her. Abruptly, she stopped and looked up sharply, feeling the presence of the woman. Her maroon eyes narrowed, taking the figure in with detail. She wasn't alone. The woman also had a cat, a high probability of it being a pet. Yet they were here-in her escape from reality. Her hands curled into fists, but she remained calm on the outside, looked serene even, though lost. No, she wouldn't speak to the woman. She had no reason to.

stifled a small mew and it flicked it's tail toward the wooded area. Adriana shook her head and stroked Shade's head again. "Ignore it," she spoke to the creature, although her eyes were narrowed. She thought she had found a peaceful place where no one else would come to. A scoff escaped her, perhaps the one Shade acknowledged would leave them alone. The cat's tail flicked agitatedly and he gazed up at his owner, golden eyes narrowed. The two seemed to silently communicate, it was....odd.
Adriana nodded to the cat, "I see," she spoke aloud and sighed. The girl stood up, still holding Shade in her arms. She moved farther along the lake, away from the other girl who had just showed up. "You what?" she said questioning the cat, eyes narrowing slightly. "Very well then."
With that the cat leapt from the comfort of it's owner's arms and quickly trotted back to where they previously were. He trekked farther past that point and finally ended up at the girl's white booted feet. Shade gazed up at her with vibrant golden eyes, they were deep and you could almost get lost in them. It was almost errie in a way, they were hard to look away from, but hard to stare into all the same. The cat contined to look up at the girl, curiously.

The girl watched the woman warily, head tilting to the side slightly. But when the cat ventured from the woman to herself, she tensed briefly. Slowly, her empty maroon gaze fell upon the feline, head still tilted to the left. The fingers of the girl's left hand, bare from the fingerless glove, flexed slightly as if to reach down, but she resisted. There was something eerie about the feline, but she wouldn't fall into it. What was there to look at in herself, anyway? She was just a simple human robot, an expirament not worth paying attention to. But the feline in herself, the large siberian tiger, urged her to crouch and give a greeting. So she did. The girl lowered herself until her arms were folded neatly across her knees, her chin resting on the top arm, and her eyes looking into the small feline's. What did it want?

The cat's gaze locked with hers and he mewed boldly. With his right fore-paw he reached out and batted playfully at the girl's hair as if it were a toy. He began to walking around her, in a circle as if examining her. When he was back in front of her he pressed his nose against hers and mewed again, this was of course a simple cat-to-cat greeting. Shade pressed his forehead against the cup of her knee, rubbing against it affectionately as cats did. A low purr rumbled deep in his throat and it almost looked like her had a smile across his maw.
Adriana did not seem to mind that her companion had decided to go see the stranger, he always was a friendly and social cat. Her gaze was locked on her reflection in the water not admiring nor hating it. She picked up the rose again holding it in one hand while the other plucked a petal from it, one by one. The girl let the breeze blow the thin petals away. She watched as they did, fluttering up in a swirl then swept away. Her eyes went back to the now bland green stem, for that was all that was left of the once beautiful rose. She stuck it in a soft patch of dirt and splashed some water on it. Then she just stared off into space, remaining silent.

The girl's mouth quirked slightly, but didn't make even the slightest remark of a smile. She touched the end of the cat's nose with her fingertip lightly, then began scratching it under it's chin. "So what's your friend like, hm? Is she just as shallow as me? Or does she have pride left to fight these people?" she asked the feline very quietly. Her long blue hair fell forward, masking half of her face in the process.
[sorry, can't think of anything really. ><]

The cat purred, obviously enjoying having his chin scratched. All cats seemed to enjoy that for some reason, just like they enjoyed catnip. "Adriana...well she just keeps to herself most of the time, doesn't bother with fighting back or anything. I'm sure she would if she had to though." he spoke in a deep, quiet voice so that Adriana could not hear him. "It's hard to explain, she just...isn't very social and I have to protect her and watch over her." They were probably funny words coming from such a small cat, but they were the truth. He had to make sure she didn't lose control, had to make sure her mind was stable, keep her on track...
There were many secrets between the two of them and they all had to do with their past. "You see...I'm not really a cat...," he said and that would probably put people into hysterics or drive them to insanity. "Well I am a cat, but...not this kind." The small creature sighed and paced about, "It'll be over soon, any day now it'll be over." Some people might mistake that for being a suicidal thought, but that defiantly wasn't it. It was something entirely different. "Yeah then I'll be okay, and I'll be able to protect her better. I have to protect her, she's the only one I have left..."

The girl was a bit taken aback when the small feline talked, especially with his pitch of voice, but it wasn't really too much of a surprise. "At least you have someone. It's a good thing that you protect her. You'll feel a hard blow when you lose something you treasure the most. I'm sure we've all been through it before..." he murmured quietly, resting her head on her arms again. "So... are you a human, then? Rarely do I find an animal alone who could talk without being a human..."

The tom shuffled on his smalls paws and nodded, "Yeah I'm human...but an experiment went wrong...It's a long story," he said, "I'm not supposed to be a small cat like this...well I've kind of grown use to it, but it makes me feel useless...makes me feel weak..." Shade sighed again, "If I was back to normal I'd be able to protect her better, she's my sister...and needs me...and I need her..." He frowned slightly, "If I ever lost her....I'd...kill myself..." he said as he sheathed and unsheathed his sharp claws.
He looked up at her, "I know what it's like to lose someone also, I've lost many...I mean we've lost many. Our parents are gone and so is the rest of our family. We're all that is left..." The poor thing almost looked like he was about to cry, but he wasn't that sensitive. "I miss them a lot y'know? So I just have to keep Adriana, I just have to make sure she's safe. It's my job, my responsibility, my life..."

The girl only blinked and listened intently, motionless and emotionless throughout the short story. "Oh... I sorta know how you feel. I pretty much lost myself because of these people..." she murmured, moving the strands of her blue hair behind her shoulder. "Don't let them get to your sister. If I have to... I'll help you should you be in need. I don't usually offer it often because... Well I'm not too sociable since then. But you're easier to get along with for some reason..."
[x-x sorry, sucky again. Just got off the phone with my friend]

"I'll never let them get her, never." he said boldly, "Even if it costs me my life I'll make sure she stays safe." The feline dipped his head to her in thanks, "Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated." He licked his right fore-paw and ran in over her face in a cleansing matter then set it back down on the rich ground. "Don't get me wrong, Adriana isn't weak...not at all...she just gets confused sometimes...thats why I need to protect her. So those evil people don't take advantage of her." Shade grinned a sly smile, "Oh how I'd love to sink my teeth into their throats, they do us nothing but harm. Yeah they give us a place to stay, food, and everything else....but it's not real. The sun isn't real, the moon isn't real....it's all....fake."
Shade sighed and began pacing about, "I want to be able to bath in real sunlight! And see real stars in the sky. I want to be free again..." His grin turned to a frown yet again, "But really...theres nothing to go back too....We don't really have a home...No one to greet us with hugs and love...all we have is....an empty blood-stained house and to tell you the truth...I don't want to go back to that....not at all..."
As he walked circles around her his small paws began to glow an eerie white. He noticed a flash of light and looked down, golden eyes widening. Before he could say anything the glow engulfed him, but it wasn't harming him at all. Soon he began to change until the glowing had stopped. There stood a tall, dark-haired boy that looked to be in his early twenties; Adriana's age. He was quite handsome with his neat hair, clean complexion, and fashionable clothing consisting of a white jacket; black shirt beneath it and black jeans.
"Woah...it's over....I'm back..." the boy said looking himself over, somewhat shocked. He smiled again, "I'm back, it's over....it's really over!" He had a charming smile, showing his straight white teeth. It could win over any girl's heart really. "I can't believe it, It's really over." The young man seemed really excited and happy, "After 7 years wow...I'm back...."

The girl yet again only blinked and listened, her ruby blue eyes following the feline pace. But when the glowing began, her heart seemed to skip a beat and she stumbled backward as she tried to stand. Her hands were the only things that prevented her from lying flat on her back and loosing her breath completely. She sat forward again, coughing lightly with her hand in front of her mouth from the small dust cloud she had kicked up and straightened her hair with her other hand before looking up. The flash was over with and, not a feline stood in front of her, but a guy. So he wasn't lying... she thought to herself, tilting her head slightly to catch his expression. The action caused her hair to fall in her face again and her eyes fell to the ground again, also. Emotions... Expressions... Those are things I know I don't show...
The girl stood, then, brushing off the extra dust off of her odd clothing and pushing the stray hair on her right side over her shoulder again. "I congratulate you on your good fortune.. uh... Sir..." she said quietly, not even able to conjure a small quick smirk. "Maybe now you won't be as confined to be able to protect your sister. Also.. sometimes giving up your life to protect the ones you love isn't exactly the best choice. If it helps you save your sister, it will only tear her up anyway because of her loss. You being there will be the best thing she would ever have."

Shade nodded, "Thank you....erm...miss?" he said awkwardly. He paused a second to think, "Oh I'm sorry, forgot the introductions did we?" The young man grinned again, "The name's Shade, and yours?" he said curiously. "Surely someone as lovely as yourself has a lovely name to match,, hmm?" Yup, he was quite the charmer alright. He was nice, hawt, sweet, hawt, intelligent, hawt, understanding, oh yeah and hawt. What more could you want?
As he waited for her answer he continued to look himself over, still trying to come into realization that he was back to normal. 'I just....can't believe it...' he thought shaking his head, 'After so long...I didn't think it would ever wear off.'. Shade continued to problem then remember he had forgot to respond to the woman's last words. "Yeah your right, if I did protecting her then well...nobody be there'd for her so...that's quite a problem....". He stared off in thought, starting to mumble to himself. "I need to protect her.....but I'll die....but if I don't protect her and....oh I don't know it's just so confusing." He was cute when he did that---just spaced off and started talking to himself....atleast it wasn't crazy talk, but actual intellectual words.

The young girl watched him contemplate to himself after introducing his name, her own thoughts running in her head. "I'm sure I'm far from lovely in most eyes and I'm guessing you're saying that to flatter me, but I'm not really one to say," she said. Her posture was as blank as her face; her arms were straight at her side, her back straight and knees unbent. But she nodded her head slightly in acknowledgment to his introduction. "Jarrn and the rest here gave me the name Kos Mos. I'm not sure if it has a meaning, but I guess it suits me fine after the experiment..."
All pain... emotions.. disappear... she thought, still seeing the fleeting emotions on his face as he was in thought. It's the nature of my... circuitry... Her ruby eyes looked past Shade and at Adriana, then returned her attention to Shade. "Maybe your sister would like to see you as yourself now and hopefully something could be cured inside of her that she's been missing for the past seven years," she suggested.

When she had spoken he snapped back to reality. Shade shook his head, "Oh no I mean it really! You're very beautiful and it's a great name even though you don't know what it means." There's one thing about him also, he never lied. Never. Throughout his whole lifetime he had only told the truth, he just....couldn't bring himself to lie. "I would never lie to you or anyone," he said truthfully, "I have no reason to lie." He nodded again, "Why lie if there's nothing to lie about? It would be a waste of breath." He ran a hand through his messy black hair, "Hmm it's just weird being a human again..."
His golden gaze went to look at his sister who had her back to them; she was still staring off at nothing....another one...of her problems. "You're right, I need to hug her again...I haven't hugged her in so long." Shade looked back to Kos-Mos, "If you'll excuse me..." he said politely and walked toward where Adriana sat. He couldn't help but smile, would she still remember what he looked like? After all he was older and looked much different from what he looked like at 16. "Adriana?" he asked softly kneeling beside her, "I'm back....it's really me."
The girl snapped out of her odd trance, startledly. She stared at him with her gray-blue eyes; just....stared. "S....Shade....you look....so much older...." she commented quietly in her soft, shy voice. "Y....you're human again.....but....I don't understand...." He hugged her tightly and she buried her head into the crook of his neck, hugging him back. Tears began to fall from her sparkling eyes, how she missed him...
He rubbed her back with his hand, "Yeah I am," he responded in his calm voice, "So don't cry....please don't cry." Shade frowned slightly, if anything broke his heart it was his sister's tears. He said something he had always told her, ever since they were very little-- "Please don't cry...just dry those pretty eyes okay?" Shade could feel her smile which made him smile as well. "I missed you even though you were always there....but not....there...." she said her confusing words. Of course he understood and nodded, "I missed you too even though you were always there..."[/size]
