Raoul finally made it to the door marked "Virtual Rooms." He kicked open the door, revealing yet another hallway filled with doors. But once they had been used, a name automatically appeared on the door for them and only them. He walked down the hall some, knowing exactly where his room was. Once inside, he kicked the door closed, moving to the large, over-sized bed in the corner of the room, placing Reiko gently down on the bed. She sank softly into the bed, but comfortably. He debated on whether he should keep her in that restricting dress, change her into looser clothes. Deciding for the better, he did, being careful with her as he slid the dress off and yanked a shirt out of a nearby dresser. It was black and rather large as he fitted it over her head, the shirt nestling loosely over her. It had taken major restriction on his part to keep his gaze away from her body as he did so. Taking the dress, he folded it and laid it on the dresser, then moved to sit on the end of the large bed.
Raoul glanced around his room, seeing papers scattered everywhere. He had written lyrics down he thought of, leaving them scattered wherever they fell. An acoustic guitar sat near the bed, propped up against the wall. He reached for it, a tune popping into his head accompanied with words. His fingers strummed over the strings lightly, picking out a soft quiet tune. He began to hum softly then began to say words that created in his mind.
The more I learn, the more I see. The less the world impassions me. The hungry heart, the roving eye. Have come to rest, do not apply. The frantic chase, the crazy ride. The thrill has gone, I step aside.
I'd believe in anything, were it not for you. Showing me by just existing only this is true: I love you. I love you-Without question, I love you.
The more I want, the more I steal. The more I hold, the less is real. All worldly things I follow blind. In hope not faith was paid in kind. The line is drawn, the change is made. I come to you, I'm not afraid.
I'd believe in anything, were it not for you. Showing me by just existing only this is true: I love you. I love you-Without question, I love you.
He finished the song, satisfied on how it had come out, but his fingers still strummed along the strings in a quiet serenade. He found it comforting, a sort of peace. Hopefully it wasn't too loud. He wanted Reiko to just rest.

The tune had stopped streaming through the room as soon as she had woke up and touched him. He grinned lightly at her comment, seeing everything around the room. "I get out quite enough, I think. I got out tonight, didn't I?" But as soon as she had went into a coughing fit, he had quickly let the acoustic guitar go as he moved toward her, not really caring if it clambered to the ground. His hand closed over her wrist as she asked her question and it felt as if she was tearing his heart out. There was a tone that seemed to stick out, something that seemed as if she didn't want him to know. Why not? If he felt such a strong attraction toward her, he wanted to know what she was like, inside and out. His thumb feathered over her wrist lightly.
"Yeah... I did..." he said honestly. She had the right to know that he knew. "Rei...I'm not leaving you like this. There has to be a way to cure it in this damn place. If they could make all of this, then they must have a way to cure things. If you still have some disease, then apparently you haven't gone to the quarantine." Raoul himself hated the place, but he'd rather be safe than sorry. "First chance I get, I'm going to make them get that disease out of you, Rei. I don't know what you did to me or how you did it, but I'm not letting you go now." He wanted to tell her how much he loved her, actually loved her, but he couldn't find the words to express it. Not even the three simple words seemed enough.

Everything protective in Raoul rose, meeting with a swirling anger. He didn't even take the time to really hide it from her. He rose as she did, gently placing his hands on her shoulders despite the rage scratching the surface. "Rei, I'm not going to let you walk away. I knew you were sick because... I saw the blood and no one would cough blood up for no real reason. You need to be taken care of. And you're certainly not waltzing around with only that shirt on." His shirt on. Though the black shirt was large on her, falling midway to her knees, he still didn't want her walking around with nothing else on.
"The only people I'm going to tell is the scientific people who can help you. Trust me, Reiko." Raoul's heart was breaking and he knew it. But it wasn't breaking for himself, it was tearing apart because of her and her suffering. Why did she, of all people, had to have the disease? Why did she have to go through all the suffering? If only he could take the pain away, soak it up so only he could take the effects away and leave her painless. His hands slid down her arms, linking together in front of her stomach and pulling her back to fit against his body. "You shouldn't run away, Cherie. It isn't going to make you any stronger."

Raoul knelt in front of her, not taking any infliction toward her outburst. For some reason, he expected it from her. His free hand moved to frame her face fully as he looked at her. "I put it on you, of course. That dress was taunting the hell out of me and the shirt sounded better. Don't worry, I didn't do anything, I promise," he said quietly. He pulled her into his arms, then, resting his chin on the top of her head. "I know how you feel about.. caring and everything. I know exactly how you feel. It was abrupt on my part and I've never really known the feeling before."
His hand shook lightly as he swept it over her hair, the emotions rolling in too quick for him to stop them. "What were your parents like, Rei? Did they treat you right?" he asked quietly, his voice not inflicted with the roll of emotions. "Did they celebrate your birthday and take you out into town randomly?" Raoul needed to know, to somehow break the spell that was washing over him like a tidal wave. It was truly uncomfortable.

Raoul sat on the bed next to her, his hands moving from her face. His left hand took her right, intertwining his fingers through hers. He rathe rliked the idea that she said she was going to keep his shirt. It looked much better on her than it ever had on him. "I'm not sure, but I feel like I need to, Rei. I've never cared about a woman so much in my life. Its something... sudden compared to everything I've been through. Trust me, you don't want me to get into detail. I don't need sympathy." The real truth was that he didn't want her obsessing over the tiniest scar on his body and it was a miracle that she hadn't commented on them before. He was pretty much glad that she hadn't.

Raoul scowled lightly, looking at her. "But what if you need help? I certainly won't be there right away to help you..." he said, a grin forming on his mouth. Why did she have to tease him so much? First the kiss, now the shower. Damn her! "Well... if I can't at least have a shower with you..." He grabbed her gently by the arms, sweeping her into his lap and fusing their mouths together in a passionate kiss. After what seemed like eternity, he let her go. Raoul grinned at her boyishly, a brow arched. "Now you better go before I get something else in mind. I'm not exactly the shy type."

Raoul shook his head, looking away with a slight grin. She was just too good to be true. "In the tall cabinet to your left when you enter the bathroom, Cherie," he said. "Can't miss it." When he was sure that Rei was in the bathroom, he picked up his guitar. It wasn't damaged at all when he had dropped it carelessly. He strummed his fingers over it lightly, testing for any loose or tense vibrations, but it was still in tune. Raoul then moved to the back of the bed, resting his back against the wall, then settled the guitar comfortably in his hands and lap. He strummed the strings a few more times, picking out a tune. It wasn't a song he made up, but one that he had heard before. The song? I Would Do Anything for Love by Meatloaf.

Raoul didn't stop playing the guitar, but he grinned. After a few seconds, he stopped, propped his guitar against the wall carefully, then stood from his bed. No, he wouldn't get her dress, but maybe a shirt. He knew that his shirts would be big enough, most likely fall down to her mid thigh. He stopped abruptly, in the middle of the room, and raised a hand to his forehead. He needed to stop thinking about those fantasies and just get her some damn clothes before he really did turn into a caveman and drag her to bed. Raoul opened a drawer, pulled out a clean black shirt, and moved toward the bathroom. He shoved the shirt through the door, not even glancing in or anything a guy would do. If he had any self preservation left, it would definitely go away if he got one look at her without any clothes on.

Raoul looked up at her when he heard the slight sound of something hitting the wall. He grinned slightly, seeing Reiko, and pushed himself up into a sitting position on the bed. "Do you have self issues and try to get it out by hurting yourself? Because I can guarantee you that it won't work very well," he said. He ran a hand lightly through his hair, his silverish eyes taking in the site of her. "I can definately guarantee you it won't work from past experience." And she won't know any more of his past experience unless on mistake. He knew he'd let her spend the night if she wanted, and he also knew he couldn't let anything happen that involves shirts. He wasn't too keen on letting her see the small and large scars on his back, on his chest and stomach, let alone the brand in between his shoulders that his father had so mercilessly put there. Raoul could still feel the burning metal against his skin to this day alone. It was pure hell.

Raoul's arms wrapped instinctively around her, resting his forehead on hers. For a few minutes he was silent, just looking into her eyes. "I'd be more than happy to let you stay, Rei. And I don't tell you about myself because its nothing you should hear about, let alone experience a story. I guess all I can say... is that I didn't get along very well with my old man. Things got pretty ugly around the house," he said softly, one of his hands absently running through her hair. Raoul had closed his eyes to hide the emotions rising. Tears were threatening to appear and he hadn't cried since he was just a baby. It was just too pain wrenching that someone out of the blue cared for him, was so persistent in finding out about what happened to him.

His hand tightened around hers when she had laced their hands together. Slowly, he opened his eyes and looked at her. Tenderness and even love showed there, maybe a hint of something else. Raoul's hand let go of hers, wandered up her arm, and stopped at the nape of her neck. "Then stay with me, Reiko. I wouldn't want it any other way..." he murmered before pulling her close, kissing her. He put everything into the kiss-his anger, his grief, his past, and his love. After what seemed like eternity, he pulled back slightly and looked at her. "You're something special, you know that?"

When Reiko had gotten up due to her phone, he didn't really mind. He knew they had been about to go somewhere he promised himself he wouldn't, but dammit she was making it hard. When she mentioned the name Eric though, everything suspicious rose up in him. Something dark and ugly roared in his head and he could feel the fangs growing in his mouth already. Raoul closed his eyes, a hand going to his face and a finger rubbing the bridge of his nose in agitation. "What, Rei? And who is... Eric?" he asked, almost spitting out the name in complete hatred. He didn't know who it was and he didn't care until she said something.

Raoul finally looked up after she had slammed the door closed to the bathroom, his anger still swirling in his gut. He hated the new feeling, despised it. With a rush of a sigh, he waited until she came back out, but listened intently. When Reiko did come out, he looked at her, watched her. "Rei, I didn't hear the water running. What's wrong, Mon Cherie?" he asked quietly, moving onto the floor beside her. He laced his fingers through hers, not caring if she wanted to or not. "I'm... sorry for reacting the way I did. I shouldn't have." His hand moved from hers and slid around her shoulders, bringing her close until she rested comfortably against him. "Bébe, tell me what's wrong. I can't help you if I don't know anything..."

Raoul sighed. She's avoiding... Just like I'm avoiding to tell her about my father... he thought, standing. Oh well... if she doesn't, I won't force her. When she had laid down, he waited for her to complain about no blankets or comfort. But she didn't. With a small quirk of a smile, he lifted her from the ground and placed her gently in his bed, pulling the warm, soft blankets up to her shoulders. Raoul feathered a kiss on her temple, then on her cheek, very close to her mouth. He moved away, then, before he shook her and demanded the truth that he wanted. Slowly, he sat down in the chair at his desk, guitar already in hand. His eyes wandered around his desk at the mess of lyrics, half without a song to match it. His dark orbs then fell on a certain song called "Drowning" and picked it out. After reading it a few times, a tune finally clicked into his mind and his fingers began strumming a tune. After getting the first piece, he began to sing softly with the tune to see if it fit perfectly.
"I gave in to The stress in life I can't escape The pressure seems to get me down
It's like a needle in my spine It stings inside Poisons me with time I can't deal with your lies..."
"Dad, why is Mom crying again? Did she get fired from her job again?" Raoul asked, itching to go to his mother's side. But his father had a firm grip on his neck, eyes slanted at his mother. Raoul looked between the two with a sad look, but he didn't let the tears through. "Dad...?" Suddenly his father's grip tightened considerably, causing Raoul's eyes to widen and almost cry out in pain. But the child knew what would satisfy him and not, which was why he bottled the pain inside.
"Let him go. He didn't do anything," muttered his mother, sitting all the way up until her back was pressed against the wall. She had been laying there, crying so her son wouldn't see her face, but now she didn't care. "Let Raoul go, now. He didn't do a damn thing to you." Raoul, seeing his mother's face, gritted his teeth and jerked his head up toward his father.
"Dad! Mom's bleeding! Did you do that?" he asked, fear clawing at his gut. But his father didn't say a thing. "Mom...? Dad didn't do that... did h-" Suddenly, he was picked up by the scruff of his neck and thrown into his father's desk. Raoul could hear his mother's scream, heard he clamber to her feet, but he didn't hear anything come from himself. He had only gritted his teeth and took the pain. Not even tears came through. At the sudden realization that his father was a crazed maniac who beat up his family, he wasn't about to give him the satisfaction of his pain.
Abruptly, his mother stopped screaming and he heard her fall to the ground, biting back sobs. Then his shirt was torn from his back and he could feel raw heat between his shoulders. Raoul's heart did a flip, began to beat faster in fear, then the immense pain came. He bit his teeth down hard, tried to fight back the cry, but it escaped and tears rolled down his face freely. The bastard... I swear I'll get back at you for this...

"I wish I could watch you drown and die And take my time It's always been a problem, can't you see? I don't get
People have said I'm not okay I lost my mind, numb me 'til I won't feel pain again."
He stopped singing, but continued to play the music when Reiko had sat next to him. His eyes wandered over her, took in her state of emotion, and his heart felt crushed. Without any haste, he put his guitar aside, placing it carefully against the wall. He then stood long enough to scoop Reiko up and sat back down, setting her in his lap. Raoul held her close, arms around her as if he'd never let her go. "A lot of things... were painful, bébe. Things you probably would never think would happen to people when they're so young," he said, speaking softly and running his hand lightly through her hair. "Things that would make you go to a point where you think you might go crazy or end up murdered just because. Trust me, you don't really want to know what my father was like."
