The Cage? What is it? How did it come around? What associates with it? I'm sure you have plenty of questions, plenty of ideas. Well... I'll tell you a story about it. Maybe short, maybe to the point. But not simple and far from sweet. Unless you like blood that is....
The Cage. A virtual hell in this world for humans that have the ability to shift their form. People who were originally hidden from the normal eye. But something went wrong in their bloodline. The humans had found out about them, witnessed their ability firsthand, and now the shifters are prisoned in their only hell. The humans torture them, prison them, treat them like dirt. At least to a certain extent.
Though the humans are cold-blooded in many ways, they have given the shapeshifters something, some sort of comfort. If you want to call it that, anyway. Inside the large building, there are rooms, tons of rooms, designed specifically for different species of animals. Made to look like the real thing, where they could get lost in a dream. They let the shifters roam free when they aren't scheduled for battle, anything they want, since they can't escape. Yes, battle.
Away from the dreamland, from the paradise, the shapeshifters are beaten down, turned vicious and cold, everything a wild animal should be. They are then released into The Cage with another shifter and they fight it out to the death. Or, if some are lucky, enough to sustain injury for weeks, maybe months. Luckily enough, the females were given the choice to fight in The Cage. The humans aren't willing to give up the females, hoping that they could breed and create more for their sadistic little games, but they were willing to give them a proper choice. If the female couldn't bear children, then she was thrown into the pit of battle until she was killed or died of old age without hesitation.
Is that enough for you? Are you willing to live out your life now? You know what you're in for, what is going to happen to you. Now that you've been caught, you can't escape. So are you going to fight to the death, live to the fullest, or are you going to kill yourself and end the possible misery in your life? I doubt it. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun in The Cage. Ta-ta...
