Maia walked through the doors of the American Eagle Outfitters store, her ruby eyes glancing around everywhere. The first thing her eyes landed on were a pair of lightweight cargo pants in the shade of white. She hurried over to it, taking it off of the rack and examining it, then nodded her head. These were the pants she definately wanted already. "Now for a shirt," she said, moving around the store. Her mind was completely on getting the perfect and comfortable clothes, so Shade was on his own at the moment.
Her eyes then landed on a nice top. It was a baby blue in color and the words "What you see is what you get" was written in black across the front. Loving the quote, she took it off the rack and laid it across the cargo pants on her left arm. Maybe they had some nice shoes to go with her new clothes as well. Wandering over to the shoe section, she looked through the different styles. "No.. those don't look as if they'd look good with cargo pants... Nah... Ew, too plain..." Shaking her head, she knew she wouldn't find any shoes here. "Oh well. Another shop to go to!" she piped to herself, heading toward the dressing rooms. "I'm gonna try these on, Shade. I'll be out soon."

[Awesome store! <3]
Shade watched her walk around, searching through all of the clothes. 'Why do girls enjoy this so much?' he wondered and sat on one of the couches that were outside of the dressing rooms. He stared around the store. So many clothes and so many choices. His golden gaze wandered to the large flat screen tv that was on the wall. It was playing music videos of all the hottest new songs. He watched it as he waited for her to come back out after trying on the clothes. Shade didn't know if he'd get his clothes from here or not, probably another store though. "She's lucky she got me here....I hate shopping," he mumbled with a laugh. "Eh...wel atleast this time I'm not be surrounded by salespeople...that really annoys me." It's true, that was the main reason he hated shopping. The salespeople would just come up to him and start showing him clothes and everything. If he heard "Can I help you, sir?" or "Blah blah blah is on sale today." again he'd scream.

Maia quickly changed her clothes, making sure they were perfectly straight and neat as well as her hair before walking back out. She still wore the awkward boots from before, but at least no one could really notice what they looked like. Her ruby eyes spotted Shade sitting on one of the couches and cleared her throat, smiling. "I couldn't really find good enough shoes here, but I'm planning on going to another store right after this one," she said, hands clasped together in front of her. Yep, she was really trying hard to seem normal and appear like a normal teen, though it was mainly for her brother. "So... do you like it?"

Shade looked away from the tv and at her when he heard her voice. "You look great," he said with a smile and a nod. "So yes, I like it." he answered her question and stood up. "So...ready to buy the stuff and go to another store? After all you wanted to get shoes right?" he asked running a hair through his messy hair again, he needed a comb or something. He took some money out of his pocket, "Here ya go, thought it up just for you," he said with a laugh. Shade handed the money to her, anxious to get out of the store....he was bored and really didn't like shopping.

Maia took the money with a small smile, going over to the counter. Laying it on the counter, she looked at the cashier and bit her lower lip. "If we pay, would the tags and stuff go away automatically in this place? 'Cause I don't feel like changing again..." she asked quietly, leaning against the counter. The cashier, a young lady, smiled at her and nodded. "Thanks." Maia then began toward the door, knowing exactly where she wanted to go next. Off to PacSun! she thought, looking back at Shade to wave her hand for him to follow.
Once she made it to PacSun, she rushed over to the shoe section. Maia searched through the different shoes for women, shaking her head at most and just plain skipping over a few. Finally, her ruby eyes landed on a pair of DVS sneakers in the color of "Berra Black Pink" and the perfect size for her. Not really liking the color, though, she thought of baby blue where the pink was. In the space of a blink, it had changed and she picked up the box, closing the lid as she walked toward the socks. Instantly, she found a pair of blue fuzzy ankle socks and picked them out, walking over to the counter. Handing the cashier the total of sixty-five dollars, Maia moved to a chair and took off her old pair of boots, sliding on the ankle socks as she looked around for Shade.
"You know, you should get some new clothes too. I think a pair of Etnie shoes would fit you just fine," she said with a light smile, taking one of the shoes out of the box and taking the papers out. "Dumb papers... I never liked these things. Its always a hassle. Just when you think you have all of it out, there's always a piece stuck in there." After finally getting the paper out, Maia slid on the shoe and did the same for the opposite foot. Standing, she moved around so the shoes would become more comfortable and walked over to Shade, arms crossed.

Shade shrugged, "Shopping isn't my thing," he repeated bluntly as he sat down on one of the benches that was near where the shoes were. He looked up at her her with his golden eyes, "I think shopping is boring, I don't see how you girls think it's so fun to walk around until you find what you want....doesn't it get frustrating?" he asked curiously holding back a yawn. "I'd much rather take a nap, but I need to think up a room. I always stayed with Adriana since I was just a little cat...but now I'm not so yeah." His eyes wandered away from her and to the shoes she suggested, "So Etnies huh? They look pretty cool..." he commented boredly. He smirked at her, "So are you going to pick out all of my clothes or something?" he asked with a small laugh; finding it funny. 'This should be interesting....' he thought.

Maia had looked away and now she slowly looked back at him, a brow arched. "Now that you asked...." she said quietly, turning all the way toward him to examine him. What would look good on him? Definately Etnies... Maybe something skater. Yeah, he'd definately pull that off. And some really nice faded jeans... Oh yeah, she's going to have a lot of fun with this. Clasping her hands together in front of her chest, she smiled and slightly giggled. "I know just the stuff!!"
Quickly, she darted away toward the shirts, finding the brand section. Element... Nah. Maybe.. No way.. Billabong is so not him... Hmm, maybe... "Here we go!" she said to herself, picking out a Volcom branded shirt. "Perfect. Now for those jeans..." Heading toward the jeans, she eyed each carefully as she sorted through them, the shirt flung over her left arm. After what seemed like an eternity to her, she finally found a nice pair of dark jeans, faded slighty and rips randomly around. Witht that done, she walked back over to Shade and dropped the clothes into his lap before kneeling next to the shoes, eyes scoping out the perfect Etnies. Red.. No. Blue.. definately not him. No way is he going to wear pink.. Maybe white would do, she thought, taking the box and opening it. "Uh.. Not sure what your size is, but you should get the white ones." She grinned and set the box down, leaving him to get the right size while she went to look at socks.
Along the way, she spotted a Volcom branded belt, perfectly matching his shirt. Right as she walked past, she snatched it from the rack and continued toward the socks. Volcom socks would be great. Maybe ankle socks too, since they're so much more comfortable. She quickly searched for the branded pair of socks, took them, then returned to Shade. "Its all about getting what you want, really. It's not really fun when you can't find the perfect things. But it isn't like you can't find it at all in the world."

Shade stared wide-eyed at the pile she had just put on his lap. "Ok I trust that you have good fashion sense." he said looking over the things she had picked out. They looked like things he would have picked should he have went to look, "I'll go try them on, be right back." As so as he told her he went into one of the fitting rooms and changed. He also took off the band thing from his head and ruffled his hair some, but not too much. He walked back out, now completely dressed in his new clothes. Shade walked over to her, "So? How's it look?" he asked curiously. The clothes made him look even more handsome, but maybe handsome was too...nice of a word? There should be a stronger word to describe him....how about HOT. Yup on fire, the shirt sculpted his muscled body nicely, the jeans and shoes fit perfectly along with the socks and belt. He did look slightly different, not as gentlemanly as before. I guess everyone else thought the same, so many people were staring at his jaws dropped. A few girls giggled and whispered to one another, poor poor Shade....he didn't like attention.

Maia had taken a seat on a chair, one leg flung over the other and bobbing up and down while her head rested back with her eyes closed. When he spoke, she opened her eyes and looked at him, arching a brow. "Much better than I had in mind. It seems perfect for you," she said. Maia took one of his hands, pressing money into it. "Now we're even for earlier." Why does he look so perfect? Maybe I should pay for the clothes and stuff so he won't have to deal with those weirdo girls... she grumbled in her mind, glancing over at them with her ruby eyes. They seemed like before for a brief few moments, empty and void of emotion like a robot, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come. "We should get out of here now. I think you're about to be mobbed by some over-preppy girls."

"You don't have to do that," he said putting the money back in her hand and taking out some of his own, "Really, I'd never let a lady pay." He smiled at her and nodded, "Yeah you're right....I'm afraid of what they might do to me..." he said with a laughed and quickly payed for his new outfit. Even the saleslady was practically drooling over him. Some of the girls were starting to walk toward him which was really freaking him out. "Er....I hope you can run fast..." he said grabbing her hand and dashing out of the store. The mob of girls were in hot pursuit and he looked terrified. "How do we outrun them?" he asked her running as fast as he could, "They're gaining on us!" And they were, the screaming mob of girls were catching up fast. There were so many of them all trying to get Shade, the poor guy. "I don't know where to go they're everywhere! We're not safe anywhere it seems."

Maia hesitated when he grabbed her hand and began running, but her body kicked into gear before she was left behind. Keeping up with him easily, she glanced all around, seeing nothing but teenage girls stopping what they were doing and rushing out of stores to pursue Shade. Perfect... Giving life a chance and I had to try with a really hot and popular guy... she thought miserably, glaring at every girl she saw as they ran. "I would try violence, but maybe that's going a bit too far, no?" she said sarcastically. Abruptly, her eyes caught sight of something strange, something no one would find in a mall. A fence...? Feeling the fan girls gaining on them still, she shook her head. "Come on, this way!" Maia tightened her grip on his hand, making him turn to the right and toward the seven foot chain-link fence.
"Think you can jump over it?" she asked, letting go of his hand when they got closer. When she was only a few inches away, she leaped up and clasped the top of the fence with her hands, pulling herself up and over. Of course she had to leap since she was only about five foot even, definately shorter than Shade. "Hopefully they're too into your looks to think about jumping and climbing and everything." She looked around the area she had leaped into, seeing spider webs and bugs all over the place. She shuddered lightly, walking farther into the alley-like area. Maia brushed away an old tattered cloth hanging from above, revealing the rest of the alley. "What is this place...?"

"Of course!" he yelled and jumped, hand lightly touching the top of the fence as he swung himself over it easily. It was no work at all, what can I say? He was really flexible. Shade caught his breath and looked around at the new area they were in. "Hmm no clue...but...er..." he said eyes growing wide. "S...spiders...." For someone so smart and brave, the only thing that really terrified him were insects, especially arachnids. A large one started crawling toward him, it's 8 legs were fuzzy and creepy-like. It had a dozen eyes, all beady and black. The spider had crawled onto his foot and he began to freak out, but was too afraid to scream. "G....get...get it off of me!" he yelled, completely spazzing and shaking his leg to get the 8-legged creature off of his beloved foot. Luckily the arachnid's grip was next to nothing and it flung off into the air. He breathed a sigh of relief, "That was close, Did you see it?! It nearly killed me!" he exclaimed standing closer to her.
His face was red as can be, he was obviously embarrassed. "Er yeah....uh....I'll protect you from the bugs..." he said trying to redeem himself from the cowardly moment. "You never know what they do...." Shade nodded and pulled something out of his pocket. It was small and metal and has a red bulb on it. "I'll zap them with this if the get close," he told her with a smirk. Soon enough a freakish looking centipede started crawling closer. He pressed a button on the small device and a laser-like light shone on the bug. Instantly it just poofed into thin air, "How about that? Instant Bug-B-Gone."

Maia put her hands on her hips, turning around to see his small little charade with the spider. She rolled her eyes, grabbing his wrist and trudging down the alley, shaking her head lightly. "Big chicken..." she muttered, but in a good heart. When she took a few steps, her ruby eyes caught sight of a purplish glow ahead, off to the left. Her brows furrowed slightly, her head turning to her left a little in confusion. Slowly, she began forward, fingers slipping from Shade's wrist. The closer she got, the large the light seemed to expand and soon she felt as if she was engulfed in the eerie glow.
Looking toward the source the light seemed to be coming from, she noticed beads hanging from the ceiling and a purple cloth behind it, almost reaching the ground. A magic shop..? Or maybe its just some weird room... But... why here? she thought, stepping forward cautiously. The bugs hadn't bothered her at all and hopefully Shade wouldn't freak out and try to jump on her back to get away from the scurrying critters. Maia reached out a hand slowly toward the beaded door, nearly seeming entranced just by the sight. What is this?

He shook his head lightly and followed her closely, "Hmm wonder what this place is..." he commented gazing around with his sparkling golden eyes. Luckily the bugs were not bothering him any ore she he didn't need to freak out. Shade stared at the glowing purple light, "Woah....bright..." he said blinking a few times. He took her hand again just so he would make sure not to lose her, "This light is almost blinding..." he said eyes closing to just slits so he wouldn't get a headache. The beads made him even more confused, "Why are there beads in the middle of nowhere?" he asked her quietly not sure whether he should speak loudly or not...who knows what could be up ahead.

Maia shook her head, stepping down the slope to the door and pushing the beads and purple cloth aside. She stopped immediately, hand tightening around Shade's. Her mind told her to go back out, leave the place, but what could she do? It looks like a fortune telling place and she had personally always wanted to know her future. But it'll take all the surprises out... she thought mildly. She shrugged mentally and took a step forward cautiously, ruby eyes moving around the dimly lit room. Purple and dark blue cloths hung everywhere, decorated with beads a lighter shade than them. Glass orbs and knick-knacks were strewn across tables, some tilted over and even some had fallen on the ground. Maia spotted a table in the middle of the room, a dim light surrounding the area and perfect, shiny glass orb in the middle. Two chairs were placed on either side, facing each other.
"Must be some fortune telling place..." she finally said.
"Of course. You two are pretty young, and that's the best time to see what your future holds," said a low voice. A lady walked out from the shadows, eyes trained on both Maia and Shade as she stepped right up to them. The lady had shoulder-length blonde hair and her eyes were a deep shade of purple. No, she wasn't exactly the old ladies that would tell fortunes; she was actually in her late thirties. The lady examined Maia first, then moved on to Shade. "Take a seat, young lad. I'll have to ask you, Maia, to take a step out of here. Fortunes are best kept to the teller and the listener." She saw Maia nod and move away, hand slipping from Shade's as she did. Taking a seat in the right chair, she motioned for Shade to take the large, fluffy chair opposite of her.
