Raoul tried his best to look innocent, a boyish grin appearing on his face--what was that? A boyish grin?! Wow he really was becoming different. "Why, nothing Ms. Rei. I just happened to like staring at you and trying to take some time to get to know you because you stand out some." He wasn't trying to sound sarcastic but it might have come out that way. He immediately realized this and glanced away, cursing himself silently. What was sarcasm going to get him? With a sigh, he looked out into the crowd, listening to the music playing. "Look, why don't we have a dance first."
Even as he suggested it, he had stood, tugging on her wrist to make her stand. He wrapped an arm around her waist as he guided her ahead of him, his body unnaturally close to hers, practically touching as if they were a couple. Raoul even got the notion that maybe it would turn out that way. He had never danced with any other woman and he had never really talked to them at all. He wasn't even this desperate. Would this woman even be worth it in the end? She seemed to have found a way under his skin, bringing out the emotions he had wanted left alone, but with her he was sure that wouldn't happen.

Reiko blushed at his little grin being dragged to the dance floor fitting neatly with each other's bodies pushed together making her blush deeper crismon turning her face away to hide it. "Ms. Rei? Now that's just plain insulting, I feel old now, Mr. Raoul." She joked being a rare thing for her to do with men since she didn't open that much, was he opening scars and emotions that she hid for so long? Reiko thought maybe she wasn't as fearless as she claimed to be wondering nonstop about this question. Reiko felt being with him was right though and this was natural-nothing wrong, her mind was playing tricks on her again no doubt. Her body rolled to the beat moving up and down swaying her hips along, her hands ran down the hips leading up to her neck raving her body. One little harmless dance couldn't lead to anything serious, right?

Wrong. Yeah, he had every intention of getting her alone--sometime. But that seemed downright insulting if he just dragged her off like a caveman. No, he was going to see if she had the same feelings for him as he did her. She had awakened something in him that he had never felt before. Soon, the song had changed to something slow, maybe dark--who knows? It was just slow. Raoul moved toward Reiko, slipping an arm around her waist to bring her closer to him. His hand settled at the small of her back, his now silverish orbs staring into her crimson ones. They weren't the dark, mysterious ones from before, showing his past in glimpses of pain and sorrow, but a molten silver that showed something more passionate. Stark need.
"Has anyone ever told you that you have beautiful eyes?" he said in a low whisper. He hadn't intended on their faces being dangerously close, but he liked it, seemed to marvel in it. Just in the same way he marveled at her being so physically close. A tempting thought came to him, a thought that pushed him to kiss her, but he pressed it back, not wanting her to make a scene like she had with the man just minutes earlier.

Reiko blushed at his compliment shaking her head slowly in denial, "No, not lately at least." She teased smiling at him hooking her arms around his neck slowly, her eyes fell on his lips once feeling a pull to them but she resisted not knowing his intention or his feelings towards her. She leaned her head on his shoulder shutting her eyes breathing in his scent silently, she never slow danced before feeling time was slowing down around them. Reiko regonized the song and began to sing along under her breath, even with her eyes closed his eyes invaded her sight. Mmmmmm, if I could melt your heart Mmmmmm, we’d never be apart Mmmmmm, give yourself to me Mmmmmm, you hold the key
Now there’s no point in placing the blame And you should know I suffer the same If I lose you My heart will be broken
Love is a bird, she needs to fly Let all the hurt inside of you die You’re frozen When your heart’s not open After singing the last chorus she glanced back up and stopped dancing, she placed a hand on his chest and the other on his cheek kissing him softly. Reiko screamed in her mind of protest but her body took over just in the moment. What was happening? Why were tese emotions she forbid to bring back from the past returning?

Why does this feel so right, so different..? The thoughts kept invading his mind, telling him that she was something he had been looking for. He didn't even know he was capable of dancing to a slow song. But when she had kissed him, of her own accord, it had been a slight surprise. But he returned it, his mouth pressing against hers lightly at first. His arms had circled her waist, brought her closer to fit his body, just as his need began to grow. His teeth nibbled lightly at her lower lip, wanting her to loosen up so he could kiss her thoroughly, passionately. Raoul had never been bent on making her happy, made sure she felt like he meant it, but it seemed like a major goal he had to fulfill, that he need to show himself that this may be the real deal.

Reiko felt her heart skip a beat, her blood caught on fire-her lips eagerly deepen the kiss letting her hands pull his collar closer. Wait-was this just a physical reaction? She forgot about the question as he started kissing back feeling his hands pressure softly closer. Reiko's head felt light and fuzzy reminding her of something she hoped to forget forever. Suddenly her eyes flashed open as memories filled her mind, the ones she ran and hide away for years. "Reiko, I will always be here for you." "Reiko, you look as beautiful as always!" "Do you w-wanna umm, have dinner with me?" "Rei...I love you." "W-Will you marry me, Reiko?" Reiko tore away from Raoul touching her lips backing up, she shook her head rushing off the dance floor. She didn't want to remember, she didn't want to suffer through love again. Not again.

He felt Reiko tear away from him, run away from him. When she had, it seemed as if his guard shattered and he lost a part of himself. His heart slammed in his chest as he cursed a string of violent words, starting after her. No, this wasn't just about him and getting rid of his demons anymore. This was something more and whatever it was, he wasn't about to let her just run away without first telling him what was wrong. Had he done something? Hopefully not. That was precisely the last thing on his list he ever wanted to do to her.
Eventually he caught up to her though, maneuvering in front of Reiko and catching her, wrapping his arms around her. Raoul held her close, nuzzling his chin on the top of her head lightly. "Hey, hey. What's wrong? I didn't do anything, did I?" he asked quietly, trying to be gentle. He didn't know if he was doing a good job, but he certainly didn't want her running away as if he was going to take her life away. Noticing that they were near a wall, he moved them both backward until his back rested against it. "C'mon. Don't leave me in the dark. Whatever I did, I didn't mean it."

Reiko felt Raoul cradle her in his arms resisting the warm feeling of peace falling on her. She struggled a little trying to get out of his grip, "You don't even know me, this isn't right. Barely even know you and yet somehow I feel like..." She said but trailed off silently, "It wasn't you at all but I don't think we should be doing this. No- I know I shouldn't be doing this." she felt her heart drop like lead inside her. Reiko just didn't want to go through the pain again and here it was, even worse than before it even started. She pushed him off softly against the wall and wrapped her arms around herself walking away. This time she prayed he wouldn't follow, he would go away just like the pain.

Raoul wasn't going to give up. He wanted to make sure she was fine before he even thought about leaving her alone. He followed silently after her, thoughts racing through his mind, threatening him. When he couldn't take it anymore, he burst out. "Okay, so we don't know each other. But you feel that same feeling, don't you? I do too. I haven't experience this kind of feeling before and I would love to know why it suddenly showed up after..." He paused, catching himself before he spilled the story about his past. Raoul shook his head and kept following her.
"Look, Rei, I'm not going to leave you alone anytime soon. Not when you're like this. Yeah, so we're perfect strangers except for the name exchange, but I want to make sure that you're fine before you push me away. Hell, even if you slap me, I'm still going to follow you." He refrained from saying the next sentence he had in mind. He knew how to defend himself, since he used to work in the DEA, and thats why he hid in the shadows so often.

Reiko turned away her back from him and stared at him for a single moment, she didn’t know what to say gapping her mouth like a fish. “F-Feel what? I feel nothing…nor do you; it’s just a silly little infatuation between us-nothing more Raoul. Just forget about it, okay? I’m perfectly fine so you don’t have to watch over me, it’s not your job or anything. Just leave me alone please.” She said sternly hoping to believe in her own words, maybe it was just a fluke, Reiko wasn’t thinking rational lately. She held neither affection nor tenderness to him; honestly her head has been all over the place tonight. Reiko smiled encouragingly at him hoping he’d buy what she just said, every time she saw him she felt overjoyed then horrified seeing her memories haunt her again.
“I’ve never loved a man and I don’t plan to, Raoul. Stay away from me.” She lied in a dangerously low voice, she needed to get out of there away from him. Reiko made a run for behind the bar and into another room calmly not wanting to create a scene. Why do I keep running away from him she thought sadly but she knew she was helping Raoul too, not just for her own selfish wish to hide from pain-he didn’t know what she was…what she is. Reiko made it outside stairs by the dumpster sliding against the door, the run took hardly energy yet her breathing began to quicken. Until, she fell into a deep sleep like a corpse-dreamless, dark, and cold.
OOC-Yup, she's a runner! Lol This somehow reminds me of Sedline from Moulin Rogue, her behavior at least. Sorry next post I'll try to keep her from running again...but the picture happy thingie might take awhile. XD

Raoul let her go this time, but he was going to follow sooner or later. His anger was swirling too close to the edge when she was feeding him lies, trying her best to believe them and hoping he did too, but he could tell she just didn't want to believe in it. And neither did he. What was he doing, running around a damn simulated club for this one woman? He didn't need her in his life. It wasn't as if he would drop dead after ten minutes of being without her. But he had felt something different every time he was with her, every time he had laid a hand on her. He felt that same electricity sizzle, threaten to burn him, but it was still a good feeling he never wanted to experience again, yet he embraced it when it did.
He sat down in a chair, his memories suddenly washing over him. Pain suddenly burned between his shoulder blades, right where the brand was laying. The brand that his father had put there shamelessly with malice and an intent on hurting him. Raoul swept a hand over his face, wiping away the beads of sweat that had suddenly appeared. This would usually happen every so often, and it had just before he had noticed Reiko. But during the whole time he was with her, following her, it hadn't even occurred to him that the pain had receded and never showed up. But now she was gone and it was back, worse than ever. He needed to find this woman and make sure she didn't run this time. She was somehow special, making that hell of a brand to stop burning.
With his mind decided, Raoul stood, instantly following in the direction that Reiko had gone. He moved swiftly and silently through the crowd, his eyes dark, blending in with the shadows. Once he reached the door she had used, he stopped before opening it. She was on the other side, against the door. With a brief, small string of curses, he moved away and headed up a flight of stairs off to his right, swinging the upper door open. He moved out onto the metal stairs, looking over the edge and seeing Reiko. She seemed to be asleep from here, but he didn't know for sure. Raoul, with a hand on the rail, leaped over the edge, slowly moved his hands down the bars until he was gripping the bottom of the platform. He let go, then, landing on his feet in a crouch in front of her.
Raoul inspected the woman; her eyes were closed and her breathing was slower than usual. So she was asleep. With an inward sigh, he moved closer. He had a notion to hold her, so when she woke up she had no where to run, but that would just scare her all the more and it would be an endless chase that he didn't want to deal with. He had patience, yes, only because his training in the DEA made him that way, but with a woman, it seemed totally different. Giving her a brief look, he stood and moved to a dumpster to Reiko's right, well enough away so that she wouldn't get the idea that he was trying to do anything. He leaped on top of it, making himself comfortable with his back pressed against the wall, waiting patiently for her to wake up. And the best part-he loved to sit in the shadows and that was exactly where he was.

Reiko stirred from her sleep rejecting the desire of her heavy eyelids to fall down again into another long sleep. She guessed she fell asleep for a few minutes at most; she recalled what happened inside and sighed. Her legs lifted her up with hesitation realizing she as in sight of someone covered in shadows, Reiko walked slowly to the railing quenching her eyes for better view. It was Raoul-out of all people she least wanted to see he had to follow her again. “Why do you keep following me? I told you to leave me alone!” She yelled in full anger ready to head back to the door, she wanted to get through to him that whatever he thought happened didn’t mean anything to her. “I'm extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end. Now I lost all patience, don’t you ever give up?” Reiko twitched violently and pulled out a cigarette from her trench coat, her nerves unraddled themselves again in his presence.
Her eyes peeled directly at him although she couldn’t see him only sensing him, her back leaned on the door legs hooked over one another trying to level down her feelings to be reasonable. “Did you know, when I was 19 I was brought here, this hell, this place of death and brimstone, a false reality to help ease my pain. I didn’t even have a normal childhood because of what I was, what I am-never knew the truth until then. Sad isn’t it?” She said emotionlessly staring off into the distance blowing smoke out of her circled lips, she saw sparks of fire flew into the night breeze waiting for him to come out into view.

Raoul wasn't the least bit intimidated by her. In fact, he thought she was rather cute when she was angry. He slid from his perch after she had spoken, moved over to her quietly. He plucked the cigarette from her hands, glancing at her with a brow raised. "And you think smoking is going to make you feel better? I think not. You know you could die from emphysema or lung cancer, right?" he said, flicking the burning tobacco to the ground and crushing it with his foot. He then caught her chin gently, turning her face so she was looking straight at him.
"Cherie, I hate to tell you this, but that life is better than most. I can't begin to explain how lucky you are that your life turned out that way, hell even I think I might be jealous of you. But that doesn't make it so I can turn back time and change my own," he said quietly. He had noticed that the pain between his shoulders had ebbed tremendously and that sizzling electricity had entered his blood. It was just her that had all these effects on him. Was her soul calling out to hers, broken calling for broken? His thumb feathered over her jaw lightly, his mind tempting him to kiss her right there and then, but he didn't. "Provided that I have an arrogant streak, no, I don't give up easily."

Her eyes cast down at his thumb on her face, why was he trying so hard to stay with her? She asked breathlessly “And how is it you envy me, Raoul? What do you mean by that?” touching his cheek in return with her own hand curiously. Reiko felt her fingertips blaze like an inferno at the skin contact; the scenery around them began to dull away into nothing as if time stopped again. Foolish heart was fainting in woo again embracing the feeling he brought every time around, he was toying with her she told herself for little comfort. Her silky hair became loose dancing in the wind breathing gusts hitting her soft pale skin; the night gave them both a soft glow dimming all stars like if they retreated in shame of their light. “What is it you hide from me?” She wondered entwining his fingers with hers and pulled him closer almost till their chests touched one another.

Raoul didn't speak, hesitating. He didn't want to tell her, make her spaz out and try to pity him. So what if he had the scars to prove the several beatings his father gave him. So what if the brand was there for the rest of his life, burning every time that Reiko wasn't around, running away from him. She wanted to know, but he wasn't so sure. "I don't know if I can tell you that..." he said in a low, quiet tone. "I'm not sure if I can tell anyone that at all." He then lowered his head to hers, brushing a feather-light kiss on her mouth. Raoul wanted to make the kiss passionate, but he suppressed the idea.
He wasn't going to be abrupt with her anymore, not unless she wanted it. Something inside of him told him to be patient, careful, let her feel her way around her block of emotions just as he was trying to do. If she refused him this time, he would stop, suffer the turmoil rising in him already. The demons would strike harder this time, invading his sleep without mercy. Well, he probably deserved it. Hopefully when Christmas came around, the people who owns this hell hole doesn't turn it into some holiday cheer place. It would drive him mentally insane and probably force him to kill either himself or everyone he saw.
