A beautiful melody echoed through the hallways, causing everyone in earshot to stop and listen. It would go low and gloomy, then gradually go up in tone. If you followed it you'd come to a room, where the door was shut, but not locked. Opening it you would find a girl in a lenthy black dress, her fingers going across polished piano keys. Her eyes were closed, she did not need them open, she let her hands guide her through the song that she had played many a times. It was her song, her mood, how she felt. She would sit and play it for hours and hours, finally she had perfected it so that she would not need to look at the keys as her fingers gracefully pushed them down just at the tight time so they would create the lovely rhytmn. Many people would stand outside the girl's room to listen, but never would they dare disturb the artist inside. You see, the girl liked to be alone, the only company she needed was her cat, the only one who understood her. She didn't need anyone else, Shade was just enough. There was no expression on the girl's face as she played, she wasn't tired either even though she had already been playing for quite awhile. To describe her better, she had semi-long, medium length black hair, partly underneath was blonde. She wore a black dress that ruffled white at the bottom which stopped at her knees. The black shoes she usually wore were set beside the bottom of the piano, not ready for use yet. Her greyish blue eyes were covered by her black eye-lined lids. The music seemed to put her at ease, help her to imagine she was somewhere else instead of this horrible place. Yet, it wasn't completely horrible. She could stay in her room if she chose to and just talk to her cat or play her song. If she wanted to leave her room, she could do that as well. It was actually a pretty good deal, back at home she couldn't be alone, so in a way this was more like Heaven then anything. Yes, to Adriana this place was Heaven, but it could be Hell...

A young girl who looked to be in her early twenties was walking down a hall way when she heard the most beautiful sound, more like the most beautiful music. It was like a dream. Amy decided to follow it slowly as her long chocolate brown hair swayed, as if it were dancing to the music. Her boots clicked down the tile hallway and she rounded a corner seeming to get closer to the beautiful sound. It's the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. Amy finally found the door the beautiful tune was flowing from, she saw many people standing outside the door listening to the beautiful music. Amy's eyes widened as her hand reached the knob to go farther in, to see, to see the talent behind the most beautiful music she had ever heard. The knob turned as the people outside the door gasped and fled down the hallway, Amy walked in gracefully and leaned against the wall with books held to her chest and just listened over and over again. As soon as the tune came to a halt Amy clapped. "It's beautiful." Amy had said looking at the ground still having the tune play through her head over and over again.

ooc-- Yay thanks Kairi for posting! =D
The girl's fingers froze and her eyes shot open. She turned her head to stare up at the girl who had dared walk into her room. There wasn't really any expression on her face, it was just blank. No words came from her either, she just sat there staring at the new girl. This was quite unusual. No one had ever came into her room before, never. Yet, Adriana might be very un-social, she still was kind. "Thanks...", she said in hardly a whisper. It would take someone with excellent hearing to hear what she said. Her cat jumped upon the top of the piano and also looked at the girl, with it's bright golden eyes. Adriana was trying to get an understanding of why the girl came in here, perhaps the melody posessed her to come in, after all she did say it was beautiful...

A smirk seemed to spread across Amy's face "Not a problem. Sorry for just barging in unexpectedly. I just.. uh." Amy seemed to ramble. "Sorry." Amy turned toward the door as the cats eye caught hers. Amy's eyes looked into the cats. "Your cats eyes.. very bright, very pretty." Amy smiled and continued to walk toward the door stopping and pausing as her hand touched the knob. "Nice meeting you.. uh.. didn't catch your name..." Amy turned and looked at the girl nodding with a slight wink. Amy scurried out the door and shook her head hoping the girl would follow her, so she could learn more about her.

A purr escaped the cat's maw as it heard the girl's comment, he enjoyed compliments. Adriana turned to her cat as if looking for answer, the cat merely mewed and gave his owner a nudge of encouragement. She gave a light nod and wearilly got on her feet moving to stand in her doorway, "Shade says thank you for the compliment," she said in the same quiet voice she used before, "Shade says he likes when people say nice things about him, especially his looks." Her greyish-blue gaze went to the floor, conversations were quite hard for her...since she never really socialized with anyone else. "I'm Adriana and I also appreciate the compliment." Yes, the girl was very shy which was another reason she hardly talked, except to Shade and when she did talk you could barely hear her. No one really knows why she was like this, and if someone asked she would never tell. Blame it on her past...

A smile spread on Amy's lips as she was stopped before leaving. "Hello Adriana, I am Amy, nice to meet you. Amy blinked. "Wait, your cat talks? How come I did hear him?" Amy's eyes wondered the room and she walked back in slowly. "Wow, big place.." She smiled and looked down at her boots. Beep Beep. Amy looked up, her eyes widened as she jerked her head toward her watch. "Uh oh, I'm late, I have got to go, nice meeting you once again Adriana. Amy stormed out the door.

Adriana watched her go, this always happened...whenever she mentioned that her cat said something people got weirdedout and left her. A light frowned crossed her features, it was barely noticeable though. The girl walked back into her room and slowly closed her door and sat down on her somewhat large bed. Shade jumped up and curled upon his owner's lap, a soft mew escaping his maw. She nodded, "Yes I know, I wish they wouldn't think that was weird..." she 'replied' to him. The cat just looked up at her, "No, you're all the company I need. I don't need anyone elses company." Shade gave her arm a nudge trying to comfort her the best he could. Adriana chuckled slightly, "I agree, they are the weird ones. Not us, never us. They just don't understand, but you're not like them all. You understand, better then anyone." Shade purred slightly arching his back against her as cats did sometimes, "They'll never understand, Shade, no one will." A sigh escaped her and she moved her faithful companion off her lap and set his gently on her pillow where he would be much more comfortable. "Have a good nap," she said to him and gave his head a light stroke, his fur soft underneath her fingers. Her feet guided her back to her piano where she sat down on the smooth bench, her eyes closed and she let the music take her away again.

Yala hummed to herself carrying a box of red-bean rice cakes for her breakfast, she wanted to cheer herself up after last night heading to the garden room. Her tight jeans hugging her hips carried a silver belt enlaced with tiny bells jingling to her steps, her light cotton t-shirt in red glitter imprinted "Dying In Strawberry Gashes On My Arm" sparkled from the hallway lights. Her sweet hum vanished as a blissful piano melody filled the hallway in peaceful harmony from a open room. Yala stepped in the shadows to see a young woman taken place at the piano who gave her the answer of the player and a strange looking creature with scales. She waited at the door curiously setting her box of sweets aside, Yala was very interested by this scene.

Adriana's fingers froze yet again, as she heard footsteps and even a voice coming from just outside her room. She turned her head to look at everyone who had decided to stop and listen. Her blueish-grey gaze scanned them, one a young girl...the other a scaled creature of some sort. She suspected that the scaled one was the one that had complimented her. The girl looked shyly at the ground, "Thank you...," she said in her barely audible voice yet again. With her slender left hand she moved her black bangs out of her face which made it eaier to see her lady-like features. She was slightly pale, her eyes were outlined with thick black liner which helped to brighten her eyes. Adriana was a pretty girl, not that she'd ever agree with anyone that would say that. She fiddled with her hands nervously, she wasn't used to this much attention...

Yala watched the girl's reaction, poor thing must not had been used to being around so many people at once. "Yes, nice playing hon-I'm Yala. Don't be shy, I don't bite that hard. Tell me, what's your name? Someone who plays such beautiful music must have a beautiful name." She said walking over to the two picking up her box, she set it on the piano carefully wearing a soft smile.

Adriana stared at them both with wide eyes. She nodded slowly, "Y...yes...Shade is a cat." she said stroking her companion's head. "Shade says, it's nice to have company, but we rarely have any." The cat's eye opened, he watched the two of them with his bright golden eyes. "Shade says, her name is Adriana and that you should not be offended that she does not like to speak." As you can see, the girl is very odd. She is speaking yes, but claims she isn't. You see she's speaking for the cat, so yes....indeed she is quite odd. Her gaze went to the ground again, "Shade says, Adriana is very shy. Please excuse her being silent...she isn't quite used to speaking to people."

Yala smiled kindly, "That is indeed a good name and I don't mind if you're shy. In fact, I think the shy ones are most honest and understanding kind of people in my opinion. Are you hungry, I brought some red-bean rice cakes." She said gesturing to the box set on the piano, her eyes met with a pair of gold ones like they were from the blazing sun themselves. Yala smiled casting her eyes back to the girl "Will Shade bite if I try to pet? Cats are so cute!" She exclaimed happily tearing a small piece from a rice cake and offered to the cat.

Adriana looked at them both again then back to her cat. "Shade says, very interesting indeed. Many others think that as well," she said stroking the cat's head lightly before moving her hand away. "Shade says, no Adriana is not hungry, but I could use a snack." and with that the cat sniffed at the piece of food Yala was holding out. He lapped the rice from Yala's hand with his rough pink tongue then gently nudged her hand. "Shade says, thank you for the food. It is very delicious even though I much prefer fish." Adriana chuckled slightly at his supposed comment, but then she nodded. "Shades says, no I will not bite, you can pet me if you wish." Adriana smiled slightly and stood up holding the the cat in her arms. She walked toward Yala so that she could pet Shade.

Yala smiled taking a step closer and stroked Shade's head softly, her fingernails lightly slide on his fur like silk leaving a soft tingle. "Aww, I wish I had a pet-I was never really great with cats. They would usually run away from me, wonder why though-maybe it was because I reeked of dog since I used to work at a pet store during high school. Oh well...anyhow, how long have you been here? I'm surprised to hear music from the halls just now since it's the first time for me after I came here." Yala tilted her head in a kind smile leaving her crimson hair strands to trail down her cheeks, "Unless you don't come out of your room alot, I'm usually out in the gardens myself-inside makes me feel trapped...like being held here wasn't enough ya know." Yala's eye lids fell sadly shimmering in sorrow and painful memories not able to hide underneath her smile.

"Shade says, we have been here for awhile. It's true, adriana does not like to leave her room unless she needs to for something. Occasionally she will leave to take a walk, but still she would avoid people. It's quite a tradgedy, shes such a nice girl if you get to know her. You see, shes shy and well thats not the only reason she doesn't like to speak. There are many reasons I will not tell a soul, I'm sorry." she spoke for him as she began stroking his head as well. "Shade says, yes. Cats do not like dogs, well some do, but personally I do not. I believe the smell of dog is gone from you, most likely you haven't been at the pet place for awhile hmm?" The young girl turned to Evra, still speaking her cats words, "Ah I see. Some cats aren't as friendly as others, every cat is different. I'm sorry you had a bad experience wih my kind, I apologize on his or her behalf."
