Solo itched the faded skin beneath his wide collar dubiously as she went on about why he was in the wrong about hiding the liquor in the bathroom. Heh, he'd never thought that Ginger was actually afraid of simple spiders, or bugs for that matter. Maybe he could get some leverage on her afterall. But Solo was, of course, a boy, in which bugs were a facination rather than a fear; especially when he was younger, now they were just a nuisance... And something to tease Ginger over. The comment after struck him quite clever.
"One of the things?" he scoffed, immediately figuring she was talking about sex, which was inherantly a reference put in every male's mind, "You were the one who brought up trust. If I hadn't found my conscience we would've been having a lot more fun." he teased, but not without a twinge of reluctancy to say so. His delivery of the remark was off; it didn't sparkle with the resiliance of Solo's quick wit as much other remarks did. But what she mused over next struck him quite hard. His green eyes looked over her softly in his lap, feeling quite speechless for the moment.
"Oh, I'm sorry; well, not really, because you know, it wasn't my..." was all that came out, quite stiffly. What was he supposed to say? He never was really good at these sort of topics. Solo always came off quite callous usually, but he didn't want to strike the wrong cord with Ginger. He'd rather say too little than to say too much. It was still very ironic in a sad way, how one came be longing for a father so long while another wishes to be rid of one. It came to Solo, however, that outwardly she wasn't truly remorseful. It was more or less an informative comment rather than a sob story. He swallowed and tried to think up something to say.
"I personally don't drink that much. Too much makes me hostile," he continued quickly in a different direction, not knowing he may have just made a bigger mistake in refrencing himself alike to her father.

Ginger laughed lightly as he stumbled on his words, a first for her. "Looks like we're just going to have to make sure you don't get so into your drinks now, huh?" she said, sitting up after his comment. She drew her legs up against her chest, her back at an angle away from him. "And maybe... when I was talking about trust, I didn't mean for you to not get so close or anything. It could have meant that I trusted you not to hurt me emotionally and I trusted you to..... I don't know. I'm not sure what I was really thinking. It could have been that whiskey.." Ginger rested her forehead on her knees, hands running once through her hair.
With a light sigh, she raised her head and grabbed at the sheets gently, pulling them slightly around her. "Maybe we should get a little sleep. Who knows what could happen tomorrow, hmm?" she said quietly, stretching out on the outer side of the bed. She wasn't about to make him sleep on the floor or anything just because she was staying at his place. Turning on her left side, she slid one hand under the pillow she was using and looked at the ground, trying to make herself seem tired. Why don't I just walk out of the door already? He helped me enough and I'm probably just making him more confused or worse than before or.. something... she thought.
[not one of my bests... but I only got a few hours of sleep total today. ><;]

"Hmmm, sure," Solo replied with lackluster. He looked down at her as she stretched out on the side of the bed and onto a pillow. What was she going on about? He couldn't keep his thoughts in order. It was probably past midnight by now. He yawned and removed himself from the bed, Solo was being quite gentlemanly at the moment. He strode around to his dresser a moment, opening a middle drawer and pulling out a pair of baggy, black cotten pants and a light cotton tank. He turned his head over his shoulder to her after a moment's contemplation.
"The bed's all yours. I'll sleep on the floor... or the chair, rather. It won't bother me, I assure you," he insisted, hoping she wouldn't put up an argument. Without warning Solo preceeded to unzip his jeans and cast them away, quite exposed from the back in his black boxers. In a flash he pulled on the pajama-like pants, pulling in the front string quite a bit to fit on his slender hips without falling off. Afterwards he immediately stripped off his black shirt, quite unmodestly, revealing his emaciated and boney back, criss-crossed by a few fading scars. Reaching for his white shirt gingerly, his gaunt shoulder blades rippling beneath his tight skin.

Ginger cast her eyes to the ground, away from Solo, as he changed. Without much warning, a streak of anger raced through her and she sat up, jerking the sheets away from her. "Y'know, just because I got this oh-so-gruesome injury on my side doesn't mean you have to treat me like some girl who can't take a few punches and still live. If you want to sleep on your own bed, be my guest. I'm not going to be an infant and wake up in the middle of the night bawling my eyes out because it suddenly burns because I-don't-know-what," she shot at him, standing. Ginger sighed, throwing her hands up. Sitting on the ground, she turned her back toward him and ran her hands through her hair. "I'm not going to start an argument with you. It'll just end up not making sense in the end or something will go absolutely wrong. And that will lead to one of us going to bed with a bad attitude and get a huge headache in the morning, which will make either of us bitchy and another argument will start."

Pulling on his shirt, Solo whirled around in surprise at her sudden outburst. Bracing himself against the dresser, he wondered if she would physically attack him, from the way her words echoed throughout the room. But when he understood what she was saying, it wouldn't seem that she would. Ginger was certainly a tightly wound sort of person. She was so terribly stubborn and independant. Solo figured that even if he did insist that she sleep in the bed that Ginger would ultimately refuse. Perhaps that was only his generalization about her, or perhaps that was the way she truly was. But in any case, Solo regressed back a bit into his former self. It was a natural aspect of his personality: to be nice when others were nice to him, and to return any inconsideracy. Of course, this was slightly toned down a bit due to his overall liking of Ginger.
"You are psycho," he scoffed with a fiendish smile, shrugging, and waltzing over to his bed where he proceeded to lay down, "Whatever floats your boat, sweetcheeks. But if you do get cold, I warn you that I tend to kick," he spoke truthfully, sprawling out under the white sheets and resting his intelligent head onto a pillow. Certainly she wouldn't leave. She wouldn't, would she? He wasn't that terribly mean, was he? Solo could never measure his audaciousness with words. Poor Ginger would just have to put up with it or leave. And in fact, Solo wasn't entirely put off by an argument. It was one of the distinct things he was good at and Ginger would be wise not to be edged on by his further comment.

Ginger glanced at him, arching a brow at the given information. She stood, rolling her eyes slightly before heading to the bathroom. "And I should mention that I tend to slap..." she said, turning on the cold water in the sink. She ran her hands under the flowing liquid, looking at herself briefly in the mirror. She noted a few small scratches, but they were beginning to fade already. That was an upside to being a shifter; having the skill to regenerate injuries faster was always a plus in anyone's life. Cupping her hands under the faucet, she lowered her head and splashed the cool water on her face. Ginger repeated this two more times, then shut off the water, taking a towel, and drying her face off.
With a sigh, she left the bathroom, turning off the light as she did. Crawling into the bed, she pulled the sheets just up to her stomach-which was enough to keep her warm momentarily. "Oh... I also may take the blankets in the middle of the night or something like that, too. My mom complained once when I spent the night in her room during a storm." Ginger shrugged, relaxing more into the bed as fatigue began to catch up to her.

But upon her return, Ginger was met with nothing but soft snores emitting from Solo's half open mouth. The last thing in his conciousness he remembered was her entering the bathroom, mumbling some inaudiable rebuttle before shutting his eyes a moment and drifting off into the black pitfalls of sleep. Peaceful, Solo was, the steady rise and fall of his fragile chest cavity keeping perfect rhythm. So vulnerable, it would seem, a change between night and day when the mocking light from his eyes was turned off by heavy lids. Solo suddenly seemed so weak, wearied. In his gentle, black sleep no dreams troubled him. No nightmares stirred him. In fact, his threats of kicking never came true either way. The collar around his neck suddenly such a cruel thing for such a seemingly defenseless figure.

Hearing no response from Solo, Ginger began to drift off to sleep. Dreams passed through the black abyss of her mind of her and her mother. The good times rolled, her father being excluded from all of them. Ginger shifted in the bed, rolling completely onto her right side and right next to Solo. Her hand had absently landed on his chest and her head on his shoulder. If the poor girl could see herself now, she'd probably leap off of the bed in fear. Even though she had grown attached to the lithe Solo, she didn't know if he really felt the same way.

Solo's eyes flickered open, long eyelashes blinking away the sleep. Dark pupils adjusted themselves inside their ring of emerald. Senses dulled, now coming back slowly. Thoughts formed in his head, and he felt something... Soft and light upon his chest and his shoulder, the smell of Ginger close coming to his nose. His eyes shifted, the vast whites of his eyes flashing like a wild horse's. But Solo remained prone. He was confused. Ginger... what had she done to him? He quieted suspicions in his mind. The night was like a reverie, dreamlike. Solo sighed heavily. The poor girl, with no idea. To further avoid a more embaressing state, Solo gently lifted her limp arm off his chest and across her own; shifting away slowly from her head as to not to disturb her.
Standing barefoot on the floor, Solo stretched high and long in an attempt to twist every vertebre in his spine. Stratching his already tousled head, he slowly meandered over to the bathroom to freshen up a tad, grabbing some jeans and a black shirt (his commonplace, trademark outfit) on the way. Splashing himself with some water and combing his hair out. The chocolate brown curls sticking out in odd places, but it suited him. He exchanged clothes and took a razor to his slightly prickly face, shaving quickly. He contemplated over what to do with Ginger now and hoped she wasn't someone prone to bad hangovers.

Ginger's mind fought through the dark folds of her slumber, her eyes fluttering open to an empty bed. She stretched her arms above her head, yawned, and sat up. Immediately it was a bad idea. her stomach was churning and protesting against her and she knew she had drank a little too much whiskey last night. "Shiiiit...." she muttered, swinging her legs off the side of the bed. She rubbed her face with her hands, continuing them through her hair. Ginger stood and began walking slowly to the bathroom, one hand over her stomach as if it would help keep her stomach from protesting "Stupid alchohol with it's stupid after effects and it's stupid good taste and stupid addictiveness..."
Ginger sat down on the bathroom floor next to the toilet, bypassing Solo as if he was just an obstacle at the moment. It would come soon enough and all she wanted to do was just get it over with. In close to a minute, her stomach retaliated. Ginger crossed her arms over the seat, resting her forehead on her arms afterward. Now she had a splitting headache. Oh joy.

"Gooooooood mornin' sweetcheeks!" Solo exclaimed rather loudly and rather obnoxiously, sidling over next to her and pressing down on the silver toilet knob to flush. He shifted positions, leaning his slender hips against the counter, halfway sitting on it. He crossed his arms over his broad chest and gave her a "I told you so" look before examining the scratches on his arm bemusedly. It was a good thing that she had deterred from any more alcohol. As bad as this was, things could've been a whole lot worse. Solo watched her sickly being from above with his typical arrrogant smirk. He waited for her retaliation of some sort, she surely would've had to snap back at him. She was funny when she did that. Poor girl, in need of a clean-up and a cup of... coffee? Hmmm, he didn't have any coffee... Solo was more a tea type of person. It was much better for him anyways. His shifty, cat-like eyes settled down upon her coyly.

Ginger stood and moved to the sink, turning on the water and making sure it was luke warm before cleaning her face. "Put a cork in it, hotstuff. I don't really drink whiskey all that much," she retorted, taking a towel and drying her face off. After hanging it back up, she left the bathroom and wandered over to the bed, sitting down abruptly. "And don't talk so loud. I have a head-splitting headache that might make me throw up even more, and this time I might not make it to the bathroom." Ginger massaged her head with the tips of her fingers, wishing it'd just disappear. "Do you have any pills or something? And something warm to drink to go along with it?"

"I have hot tea and some Ibuprofen," he shrugged, following Ginger from the bathroom and into his bedroom. He separated from her track and went to his top drawer, pulling out a pill bottle and a tea bag. He had just about everything in his top drawer, everything but clothes it seemed. He popped the top off the bottle and swallowed two himself (without water, like a pro) before putting the cap back on and tossing it to her. He paused a moment, looking at the label on the tea bag and mumbling choice things from the label out loud.
"Tazo black tea... Ingrediants consist of herbs, healthy things, and blah blah blah... You do drink tea, don't you?" his imploring eyes looked up from the label, a quizical expression crossing his apt brow. Coffee was such a terrible tasting substance. And the caffinated kind was in most cases, unhealthy. But tea was a divine, sort of sophisticated drink. Only trouble was that it sometimes turned your teeth a little yellow, but nothing a good brushing couldn't fix. But that was his mere opinion. Once feeling better maybe he could get a look at her stitches once more.

"Occasionally. I usually drink anything available to me if I drink too much," she said, her hands falling into her lap. "If you don't have any Lipton tea, anything else would do fine. My mother got me attached to that kind of tea. Really good with sugar, y'know," She smirked briefly, then wrapped the sheets around her before lying backward. "I need to go shopping for some new clothes. That damn old bastard ruined my favorite ones..."
